The foundation
It has assumed control and management of the extremely important cultural and artistic heritage treasured and safeguarded by the companies of the Sargadelos group.
Its intention is to exhibit it so that clients and visitors can enjoy and appreciate it. It also aims, subject to available financial resources, to organize workshops, meetings, and discussion forums to promote awareness and dissemination of creative activity and conscious reflection on the most diverse controversies and polemics that arouse public interest.
To date, it has promoted the following activities:

Sargadelos Carlos Maside Museum

In 1970, the Carlos Maside Museum opened on the premises of the SARGADELOS museum in El Castro-Sada. It was felt that Galicia needed an institution to house the work and documentation of the Galician art renewal movement, which had been dispersed due to the events of 1936. The museum would undertake this task of care, protection, exhibition, and study, thus fulfilling a necessary role in the evolution of the aesthetic ideas of contemporary Galician art. Its collections capture our most recent artistic past, not as a static repository of information, but to contrast it with our present, without discriminatory criteria and always with the hope of a better future.

The museum is located in an architectural complex that houses the Cerámicas del Castro production plant, a building dedicated to research, design, and exhibitions of ceramics and books, as well as temporary exhibitions.
The Carlos Maside Museum occupies the most characteristic building of this industrial-cultural complex designed by the prestigious architect Fernández-Albalat and built to house the pictorial art collection, consisting of an array of hexagonal modules arranged around another large central hexagonal module.

Exhibition space spread over three floors where works by Castelao, the seed of the renewal movement, Francisco Lloréns, The collection is completed with other relevant figures such as Eugenio and Mario Granell, Urbano Lugrís, Julia Minguillón, Manuel Torres, Tino Grandío, Labra, Virxilio, Mercedes Ruibal, ..., or more recent ones such as Raimundo Patiño, Alberto Datas, from the group Atlántica Cabanas, Leiro, Permuy, Correa Corredoira, Lamazares, .... and an accomplished representation of young artists. The last floor dedicated to humorous drawings and comics ends.

Sargadelos Ceramics Museum

A wide collection of our artistic and cultural heritage
In 2020, one of the buildings in the SARGADELOS (Cervo) architectural complex, declared a Site of Cultural Interest, was restored and renovated to become the Ceramics Museum. The iconic building, after recovering its original atmosphere and through seven rooms, aims to showcase the history of ceramics, the aesthetic evolution of porcelain production, and the important role that SARGADELOS played in Galician culture.

Library
This space features various rooms with a wide collection of our artistic and cultural heritage. From the beginning, with the Pioneers Room, which displays antique SARGADELOS pieces and traditional Galician pottery, to the latest room, which exhibits a selection of pieces from modern SARGADELOS.

Audience
You can also visit an original auditorium with a capacity for two hundred people, the old library, Díaz Pardo's home, and a room dedicated to ceramic experiments carried out in SARGADELOS since 1972.

Sargadelos Discussion Forums

Talent Work Meaning
The SARGADELOS FOUNDATION has established annual DEBATE FORUMS in which cultural and current affairs topics are addressed and debated from different perspectives.

It is common for distinguished speakers to present their views and participate in the subsequent debate with the assembled attendees in a relaxed and dynamic manner.

The Voluta Figure has been chosen as a symbol for these events, a tribute to the art known as Galician Baroque, which once represented a cultural and artistic revolution.

Sargadelos Workshops

THE SARGADELOS FOUNDATION organizes ceramic design workshops annually, as practical workshops for a small number of participants with links to the world of design (maximum 10-12 students per workshop).
In addition to the SARGADELOS technical team, outstanding national and international designers in the selected specialties participate.

Goals
The objectives of the workshop are:
• Introduction to product design and development methodology.
• Experimentation and learning through a personal design project related to the sector and one's own activity in each of the workshops.
• New contributions in the search for original media, for a real demand in a growing sector with needs for innovation and future.
