DISH BOWL CORAL VIEIRA

Galicia, due to its location in the north-west of Spain, enjoys one of the richest and most productive coasts in terms of marine resources. The sea has been an essential part of Galician culture for generations, and scallops have become a symbol of regional pride. Beyond representing the prosperity and abundance derived from fishing, it embodies the history, seafaring tradition and identity of the Galician people. Beyond its association with the sea, the scallop has a deep spiritual meaning. It is closely linked to the Camino de Santiago. The pilgrims wear it as an emblem of their journey, which gives them, they say, a peace and reconciliation with their imperishable soul. In short, the scallop in Galicia is much more than a shellfish. It symbolises the generosity of the sea, the richness of its waters and the link between the Galician people and their natural environment. At the same time, its cultural and spiritual significance reinforces the connection between material and spiritual prosperity, giving it a unique meaning within the Galician identity.
