"designboom friend luis ramirez (dekuba) has sent us images of his latest collection of porcelain pieces. the cuban designer who was a shortlisted winner of our ‘ceramics for breakfast’ competition with his project ‘producing tropics‘ has since been producing much of his work at the sargadelos porcelain factory in galicia, spain-considered among the best in the world in terms of the quality of material used. the collection includes vessels for serving coffee or juices, candle holders, lighting and vases, whose organic forms have been realized to move, rotate, and create a dialogue with one another. in particular the formal and functional aspects of his designs-the joint shapes also act as a comfortable handle-are closely related."
