Christmas is coming and Galician homes get full of light and colour, being Galicia a land of meetings where food, drinks and music become the protagonists.
Even our Celtic ancestors used to meet on those dates to celebrate the winter solstice and, with it, the coming of new crops. This celebration is because the land they took care so much would get greener and greener and mountains would return to life.
From SARGADELOS we want to recover the Celtic spirit still alive inside every Galician, to celebrate Christmas as a life celebration and remember the love for nature. That’s why these ornaments take the shape of fruits from the centenary trees that make up the unique Galician landscapes. That´s how these ornaments try to evoke the nature spirit at every home.
At this time of the year it is a tradition that the apalpador brings chestnuts to the children and check if they ate enough during the year. This fruit is protected by a layer of thorns before being detached from the chestnut.
