Traditional collection

The traditional collection includes a series of shapes with smooth surfaces which are ideal for adding different decorations beneath their glaze using airbrushes.

Our ceramics use kaolin taken from the old mines in the district of Sargadelos, in the northern part of Lugo known as ‘A Mariña’. It is a material of proven quality, which we treat at the highest temperature possible, leading to an exceptional porcelain that is vitrified in a reducing atmosphere at a temperature of more than 1400ºC.

Varnish or glaze is applied over the decorated surface, making it glossy and smooth to the touch, at the same time as serving as a protective layer against abrasion or the use of dishwashers.

The shapes of the decorations are preferably added by airbrushing the colour over stencils, by stamping, or even decorating some special models by hand.

The lines in this collection are:

  • Espiroide, a design seen in a diadem dating from the fifth century BC, found at the hill fort of Elviña in A Coruña.
  • Encadrelado and Cadrelo, inspired by interwoven decorations carved in stone from the hill fort culture.
  • Galerias recreates the lines that regulated the decorative forms of Coruña’s Modernist galleries.
  • Follas and Ramallo are motifs associated with organic forms, in the second case with a certain classical feel, as they are reminiscent of the laurel wreaths used in ancient times.
  • Itálico is based on a mosaic found in the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Itálica, in present-day Andalusia.
  • Coroa is a decoration with an astral feel and references to the old petroglyphs that are so frequently found in the region and characteristic of ancestral Galician culture.
